Description:
Folic Acid is important for women who are planning a pregnancy or are pregnant, since it is involved in the healthy development of the nervous system, particularly in the first trimester.
Iron is frequently low in the daily diet which may lead to iron deficiency related anaemia.
Iron may be depleted in women of child bearing age, after childbirth or whilst breastfeeding, and is one of the minerals often found deficient on a global scale.
Vitamin B12 combines with folic acid for formation of red blood cells and together with iron are needed as haematinic factors, vital for the formation of healthy blood cells (One-a-day tablet).
