Folic acid, also known as vitamin B9, is a B-Vitamin especially important for women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, as it’s known to help prevent most birth defects known as neural tube defects. Folic Acid is also important for maintenance of a healthy nervous system and new red blood cell formation.
